Mindful things, tips on how to start becoming a better you!

HEY, lets get your mind right!

Life sucks sometimes, right?? Well, if you always have that mind set, it will suck. Why not try to see the beauty in it? Why not try to see all the hidden possibilities if you just open up your mind. The possibilities are endless, step out of your comfort zone and take a chance, talk with positivity, talk kind to yourself and watch the universe work in your favor. You can't always think and say negative things and expect good things in return. Be careful of what you speak into existence.

Of course, the road to healthier life isn't always easy. But it is so worth it once you start.

With my anxiety and ADD I had to start with a to do list for every day. I make small to do lists, so I don't get overwhelmed. I make time for the gym in my list and a walk outside. Walking is one of the most underrated workouts you can do. It is SO good for you!! Not only that, but sunshine is also good for your health as well!! Natural vitamin D and a great source of energy, even if you start with only 5-10 minutes of walking outside, you can scratch that off your to do list and feel accomplished. It's good for your mental health by helping naturally reduce stress levels and raise your serotonin. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter. It plays an important role in regulating mood, sleep, and your digestive system. So yeah, super important!

I start a new goal every month and keep doing it until it becomes a habit, then I set a new goal. One goal I started 2 years ago was making my bed every morning. There are actual facts that making your bed every morning is good for you. It helps get you a routine started, it helps encourage cleanliness, it lowers your stress and improves your mood knowing you accomplished something, also, a nice clean well-made bed just looks better, right?

I have been doing it every morning for 2 years now, it has become a natural habit for me, I don't second guess it. I just do it. On my off days I open my curtains and let sunshine in. I walk to the bathroom wash my face, brush my teeth, then I stretch. After a nice morning stretch, I make a cup of coffee and go over my to do list. Some days it's cleaning the house after I've made dinner, other days it's cleaning my car or just going straight to the gym, grocery shopping, etc. The point is, having a routine is important and lowers stress and anxiety.

I make time to go feed my horse and work on the farm, that is cardio in itself. There is a very nice feeling in knowing you are accomplishing things.

Don't get me wrong accomplishing all those important things that you need to do are great! But don't forget about self-care. I LOVE reading, and I take time in my day to read a good book, usually that's before bed besides scrolling on my phone. It's proven that reading before bed helps you sleep better and lower stress levels. when I brush my teeth at night I take my time with my skin care routine. I use natural essential oils to help relax me. I light sage or an incense. I put on some grounding music.

Recently I started a new goal to stretch and practice breath work followed by a meditation every single night before bed. This all but takes 20 minutes. It has made me so relaxed and stress free. I work in a hospital, and for all my healthcare peeps you know how stressful that can be! This helps lower stress and anxiety tremendously!!

* If you want tips or guidance on how to start meditating, I will post a link to some amazing channels I used when I first started and still use down below!! What I am trying to say is, it starts with little things, and having TONS of gratitude. Starting a journal and writing your dreams, write what you are grateful for, it could be as simple as writing " I am grateful to be breathing" or even " I am grateful to have a place to call home", "I am grateful to live another day to be better". Just some examples of things I have written in my own journals.

Remember you are POWERFUL; your words are POWERFUL. Speak kindly to yourself and to others. I promise, the universe never works against you.

What are your thoughts? What are some things you do every day to help become a better you? Are there any tips you can give me?
